The owner/ General Manager and your host of The Oldruitenborgh Estate, Mr. Chienus Schokker, is by profession a clergyman. From his many years of experience in supporting his fellow human trough their "highs and lows" in life Mr. Schokker has also created at Oldruitenborgh a place for a Moment of Contemplation.

Het Bruidspaar
Huwelijksvoltrekking

This added value is especially meant for couples whom find a consecration of the wedding by the Church "a step too far", although raised Christian, not necessarily feel connected to a Christian institute any more. These Moments of Contemplation may also provide as a bridge between those couples where one partner does belong to a congregation but the other might not or might not even be familiar with. Out of respect for the latter, most people usually will not choose for a consecration by the Church. Also wedding couples that have different religious backgrounds might not want to marry at the Church. However the Moment of Contemplation is also used by couples whom are not connected to or believe in any religion at all. They might look upon the possibility of a Moment of Contemplation literally as adding some depth and spirituality to their wedding day. Also because moments like this create room and time for a personal flair to the ceremony.

The contents or form of a Moment of Contemplation will be thoroughly discussed in a private contact with Mr. Schokker himself.

Mourning

The Oldruitenborgh Estate does not merely provide receptions for the highlights in life but it can also be a profound and meaningful location to share your low points, that life definitely brings as well. Relatives and next of kin will sometimes look for a location with just that bit more distinction than the more common "small room behind the Church" or the reception area of a crematorium.

It also occurs that, the diseased themselves have arranged in their will, for the relatives to have, after the ceremony, cremation or burial, an informal gathering where one can make a toast to celebrate the memory of the passed one's life. During this gathering wine and refreshments are served during an informal gathering of relatives and friends. After this usually a small group of intimae stay to have diner at the Estate.

For those that consider it not to be in correspondence with the personality of the diseased, to pay the last respects in a church, or those whom like to avoid a line of ceremonious activities at the crematorium The Oldruitenborgh Estate can also provide the opportunity to have the actual farewell ceremony, in the presence of the diseased, at its location. Afterwards a reception can be held at the Estate where the circle of intimae can lead the loved one to his/her last resting place or crematorium.

If the family does not have someone to lead the farewell ceremony, it can be arranged that Mr. Schokker can lead the ceremony, as he is a qualified and experienced clergyman.
