Weddings at The Oldruitenborgh Estate,

Getting married on the special location of the Oldruitenborgh Estate, a Mansion near the idyllic town of Vollenhove is a most unique experience. Next to the Mansion, (a historic castle dating from 1583) the Estate also consists of a Orangery, a Coach House and a Bent House (originally also a castle). The Estate is situated at the head of County Overijssel, located centrally in The Netherlands which makes it very easy to travel to from every direction possible.  | Until the changes in municipalities in 2001, The Oldruitenborgh Estate served as City Hall and was therefore the residency of the town counsel of Brederwiede, and since 1948, it also was a preferred place for performing the official part of wedding ceremonies. After City Hall was moved to Steenwijk, the possibility to be married at the Estate did remain. However much more than the official ceremony, could not be provided. Firstly because it was a City Hall and secondly because it had not the required licenses and facilities to allow wedding parties, receptions and festivities. |
Since recently The Estate received its licenses and needed requirements to offer complete wedding facilities and arrangements. Because of its beautiful location, historic ambiance and a myriad of possibilities to provide a costume made wedding day, make more couples find their way to this unique location at the Weerribben and the Wieden, at North Overijssel. Not only do couples choose to stay at Oldruitenborgh because of its overnight arrangements. But also because it has kept its function as perfect wedding location, as it has been through history for the local population and couples in the nearby area. There is still the possibility to have the official ceremony take place at the Estate and have your festivities arranged elsewhere. To explore the possibilities of organizing your complete wedding day or just part of it at the Estate, starts with a free tour of the Estate and of course a personal appointment with one of our staff members. When you are enthusiastic about the location and the arrangements we offer, you can place an option for a set date. Then your preferred arrangements will be discussed in a meeting, where you have the possibility to have the entire Estate for your wedding day exclusively or whether you prefer to keep it at the Mansion only.
